  Owners Gary and Barbara Machen cordially invite all whitetail deer enthusiasts to visit the ranch and see some of the best the Texas deer industry has to offer. Machen Ranch is a family run, South Texas livestock ranch combined with one the best whitetail deer breeding programs in the state. Machen Ranch is located 21 miles northeast of Pearsall, Texas on Highway 140 -- a mile or so before the Zavala county line. Our exclusive whitetail deer breeding program was started in 1996, consisting of two purchased bucks and handful of does. Since that time, there have been no outside deer brought to ranch. By keeping our bloodline pure, we have created our own distinct line of native, South Texas whitetail deer. Our deer breeding program has consistently produced 200+ B&C class bucks. In fact, our current breeder (#357 -- the one in the picture at the top of this page) has a staggering B&C score of 298! We welcome you to come to ranch to and see our deer.
